On Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 6:00 PM (Central Time) / 7:00 PM (Eastern Time), the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA) is launching a 24-hour livestream fundraising marathon to raise awareness of, and advocate for, the civil rights of atheists and humanists worldwide.

The ACA is a US-based non-profit organization that promotes atheism, critical thinking, secular humanism, and the separation of church and state. The ACA is renowned for its flagship online program, The Atheist Experience, where callers are invited to share their religious beliefs and world views. Through candid dialogue, sharp reasoning, and thoughtful debate, the show’s hosts challenge callers to think more critically and to question their ethics and assumptions.

Although based in Texas, the ACA has a large following in Canada, and one of their board directors is also a SOFREE member. We are grateful to the ACA for inviting us to participate in this fundraiser.

During the marathon, supporters will have the opportunity to donate funds directly to SOFREE through a dedicated donation button linked to ZEFFY, a Canadian fundraising platform.
