On Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 6:00 PM (Central Time) / 7:00 PM (Eastern Time), the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA) is launching a 24-hour livestream fundraising marathon to raise awareness of, and advocate for, the civil rights of atheists and humanists worldwide. Supporters can donate funds directly to SOFREE through a dedicated donation button linked to ZEFFY, a longtime Canadian fundraising platform based in Montréal, Québec. Although based in Texas, the ACA has a large following in Canada, and one of their board directors is also a SOFREE member. We are grateful to the ACA for inviting us to participate in this fundraiser. 

The ACA is a non-profit organization that promotes atheism, critical thinking, secular humanism, and the separation of church and state. The organization is renowned for its flagship online program, The Atheist Experience, where callers are invited to share their religious beliefs and world views. Through candid dialogue, sharp reasoning, and thoughtful debate, the show’s hosts challenge callers to think more critically and to question their ethics and assumptions.
