World Religions Conference 2025

23 November 2025 - 12:00 pm

World Religions Conference 2025

SOFREE is pleased to announce that we will be bringing the secular voice to the annual World Religions Conference at Wilfrid Laurier University, speaking to the theme, “Combatting Hate”.

We are honoured to be part of this annual event where people from many different backgrounds and philosophies come together for a day of reflection and mutual respect. It is in this spirit of openness and goodwill that we offer the Humanist perspective, grounded in principles of human worth, secular ethics, and social responsibility, to addressing the pressing issues of today.

Our keynote speaker is Sassan Sanei, an engineer, philosopher, Humanist Officiant, and Board Member with Humanist Canada. His academic path reflects his passion for bridging Humanist principles with science. His career in the technology sector further shaped his perspective, giving him insight into how innovation, evidence-based reasoning, and ethical responsibility interconnect to shape society.
