In a world where secrets are currency and the control of information means ultimate power, a crew of eccentric specialists—hackers, codebreakers, a blind sound savant, a conspiracy theorist, a former CIA operative, and a piano teacher—are drawn into a risky game of high-stakes espionage. At the helm is Martin Bishop (Robert Redford), a “security consultant” with a murky past and a knack for staying one step ahead of his adversaries. What begins as a “simple” theft of a mysterious black box capable of breaking any encryption on Earth soon spirals into something more sinister. As hidden agendas and shady government operatives begin to surface, the team uncovers a plot that threatens the very foundations of global security. The team must rely on their ingenuity, skills, ethics, and trust in each other to navigate a landscape where morality is blurred and protector becomes predator.

Clever and surprisingly ahead of its time, Sneakers is a 1992 techno-caper with an all-star cast that offers a rare blend of entertainment and ethical inquiry. What happens when surveillance eclipses freedom? Who watches the watchers? How far will people go to protect one another in an age of limitless information? And what do we owe each other in an increasingly cyber-connected world?
