An examination of the roots of secular humanism from pre-history to now.
Doug Thomas, life-long Huxleyan agnostic and secular humanist will make a presentation that answers many questions about the evolution of humanism, from Astalopithecus Afarensis (Lucy), through the agricultural revolution and the advent of writing. He will deal with the bifurcation of humanist philosophies into mystical and secular forms, and track the secular humanist philosophy through the major secular humanist philosophers to today.
The presentation will be followed by a question, answer, and discussion period.
A bibliography of secular humanist writings will be provided.
