SOFREE Presence at World Religions Conference

17 October 2021 - 1:30 pm

SOFREE is delighted to announce that Humanist and social justice activist, Kathleen Johnson, will be our keynote speaker at the 40th World Religions Conference on October 17 (online).

This year’s theme is titled, “Combating Racism”. Root causes, perceptions, and ways to fight racism will be discussed. Theists will show how racism is addressed according to each religion’s scripture, while Atheists will show how racism is addressed according to our Humanist mindset and principles.

The main purpose of this annual conference is to encourage open dialogue on diverse topics from the perspectives of different religions and philosophical traditions. Along with the religions represented, we Humanists are always given a voice at this event to speak to themes and issues from secular perspectives. Additionally, whether in-person or online, this event allows us to meet people from all walks of life and answer their questions about Humanism, atheism, and secularism, to dispel myths, and to work together to address the social issues that affect us all. The 2021 World Religions Conference is a free online event organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at and runs from 2:00 to 5:00 pm on October 17.
