Nonviolence Day in the Park

July 20, 2019 - 11:45 am

Since 2005, people in Waterloo Region have been gathering under the banner of Nonviolence on the island in the middle of Victoria Park Lake.  At the SOFREE tent they find us talking about our Humanist outlook on life.  Flyers outlining our Humanist Principles are available, and this year we even have “Good without gods? You’re not Alone!” buttons to give away.

It’s an easy-going day, with relaxed conversations under the trees and the sound of water nearby. We sometimes gain new members for SOFREE as local residents discover we exist.  When our members stop by the tent, it is a good opportunity for chatting about activities that could be held in the future or other SOFREE business.

We will be there. Stop by if you can – we would love to see you.
