Reversing Roe
Reversing Roe is an Emmy Award-nominated 2018 documentary that reveals the polarizing and volatile history of reproductive rights for women in the United States, and the legal, historical, and societal ramifications of the 1973 landmark Supreme Court decision on abortion referred to as “Roe v. Wade” that continue to this day. Featuring candid interviews with activists, legal experts, and politicians from both sides of the issue, as well as archival footage, Reversing Roe challenges audiences to consider the grave implications of undoing decades of progress.* The film underscores that when women advocate for their human and civil rights, it paves the way for a more equitable and principled discourse on justice and well-being.
* Note: In 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court officially reversed “Roe vs. Wade”, effectively erasing nearly 50 years of progress on reproductive health rights.
