July 20, 2018 - 6:30 pm
Star (Gazing) Night with The Royal* Astronomical Society of Canada.
On July 20th, Mars will be the closest it will be for 13 years, Jupiter and Saturn will be very visible, a comet or two will be visible and there may be meteors. And we will be closer to Conestoga Lake than SOFREE has been in 26 years.
Join us and go star and planet gazing at Conestogal Lake. An RASC person will be our guide and we will get to look at the universe through RASC members’ telescopes. They will explain what we are viewing.
Admission is $7.00 (entry fee for Conservation area at Conestoga Lake)
We are meeting at the parking lot behind Tim Hortons at Bridgeport and Weber at 6:30 to car-pool to the Beach Parking Lot at Conestoga Lake. You are welcome to find your own way there if it is more convenient for you, but remember, gasoline costs 2.3kg of carbon dioxide per litre.
This is definitely a family event.
* Black tie is definitely optional
